So, I figured it would take me awhile to feel the fever. I`ve had one already. It was painful, and long, but the payout was totally worth it! I`m still enjoying the fruit of that labour, and always will, however, I`m kinda getting that feeling...y`know, I could go for another.
If you`re not sure why I`m enjoying this particular fever, let me explain.
I think I`ve got a touch of Baby Fever!
A girl I went to high school with, just had her second baby, everywhere I go, I see pregnant belly`s, a good friend of mine is approaching her due date, and my son is growing up so quickly!
Now I`m not saying that I want to jump into this, however, after dt.iscussing it with my husband (who, by the way, thinks we should start trying immediatly), we have decided that, for sure, we will start trying as of our 1 year anniversary this summer! This way our son will be at least 11 months old when I get pregnant, and I can still fit into my wedding dress for our vow renewals. I alsowon`t have to worry about breastfeeding 2 babies at once (unless we have twins), and if I get any morning sickness, it will be easier to deal with having a toddler, as opposed to a baby to look after (while puking).
So, as odd of a blog this may be, I felt the need to share my feelings on the subject.

Creative EXHAUSTION!!!
So I seem to have caught quite a nasty cold. Coughing, sneezing, runny nose, congestion, headache, plugged ears- the whole package! UGH! Last night I tried to have a nice relaxing bath with some 'vapour bath' bubbles. I grabbed a towel, my bath pillow, a good book, a glass of juice, and hopped in! What do you know, NO HOT WATER! The time that I am looking forward to a hot, relaxing, nasal-clearing bath the most, someone's used all the hot water. Luckily, my amazing husband filled our stock pot with water and boiled it on the stove, then added it to my lukewarm bath for me. Unfortunatly, by this time the water in the tub had cooled enough, that the hot water only stayed hot for about 10 minutes. Oh, well, lesson learned. Test the running water BEFORE you walk away!
While suffering from this rediculous cold, I have had some revelations I thought I would share- (completely unrelated to my cold, however). Lol!
1. I am completely anti-Beiber.
Glee being one of our favorite shows, we were excited to watch the new episode on Tuesday night. Not only was the episode itself, slightly dissappointing, we had to suffer through an hour of Justin Beiber songs.
2. BYOB (bring your own booze) is no longer an option for our reception this summer. What ever happened to having a 'controlled' drinking environment, and allowing people to bring their own booze of choice?
3. I am completely addicted to reality tv. The first episode of Survivor Redemption Island was great!
4. Winter is not yet gone. As I am blogging today, the wind is blowing, the snow is falling, and it is bitterly cold!
5. Stress is inevitable, and doesn't stop because you have a cold!
So, as I attempt to ' power-through' this cold, and the exhaustion that came with it, I will do my best to keep up with my blog! :)

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla- add eggs and flour. Add ground almonds and 1-2 tsp water and mix.
Frosting:
8 oz/ 225g semi-sweet chocolate
5 tbsp margarine
2 tbsp corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
Mix frosting ingredients together and melt. Melt the 1 oz chocolate and swirl into the cake mixture.

Structure Among Chaos
So this morning I blog about feeling overwhelmed.
It seems that no matter how hard I try to organize, de-clutter or minimize things, it only ever half works!
If I decide to clean out a closet or dresser, I DO end up throwing a lot away, or giving away a lot, however, when I put away the things that 'I just can't get rid of' the closet or dresser is STILL FULL! How does this work?! If I puchase containers to oranize the desk, the desk then just becomes full of containers filled with stuff! I tend to be fairly clean person that enjoys a tidy, clean house. However, after having a baby, have learned that it's ok to vacuum AROUND the toys every other week, and do the dishes every OTHER day, and maybe the bathtub didn't get scrubbed this week, or the laundry didn't get hung up or folded. IT'S OK! It is through this realization that I have begun to enjoy the humor in the little moments. I don't need to panic and run for a cloth if my husband sneezes while holding a cup of coffee. It's ok if, while juggling the carseat with baby, the diaper bag, my purse, and the car keys, I bump my arm while trying to open the door and spill my go-cup filled with my favorite tea, all over my nice clean, spit-up-free shirt. IT'S OK TO LAUGH!
This is one of the many things that becoming a mom has taught me. Life has no time for being upset- to treasure the little moments, good or bad.
I am a 'list' person. I always have a list for everything. I guess maybe it's an attempt at being organized- it doesn't always work. Although without the list, I don't know that anything would get done!
Lately my lists seem to consist of: Upcoming birthdays and gifts to buy, anniversary's, baby showers, holidays, wedding planning, appointments, phone calls to make, payments to make, reservations to make, recipes to try, e-mails to respond to, quotes for cakes, houses to look at, exercise to do, and a calendar full of favorite tv shows to watch.
So in the midst of my busy life, I will take the time to stop and laugh, and know that no matter how chaotic things may seem, there will always be some sort of structure among the chaos. My son will laugh, cry, smile and giggle, my husband will always love me, and hug me, the sun will always shine, and there will always be something else that needs to get done! :)

Nighttime Kisses
So I have decided that the best feeling in the world is having my son snuggled up to me in bed with his arms around me on one side, and my husband snuggled up to me with his arms around me on the other. What a wonderful way to wake up- although it was 4:30am. LOL!
I do have to say that through all the well-intended advice we have been given, we do not regret have our son sleep in bed with us. We definitly do realize, and agree that he will have to move into his crib shortly, however, we have greatly enjoyed this time of nighttime cuddles and kisses and giggles, and waking up to a fist in the face or a nice morning razzberry just as we open our mouth to yawn.
He has learned as well, that once mommy and daddy are in bed, it is time for sleeping, and nods off quite quickly most nights. He naps alone during the day, either on the floor (where he falls asleep) or in his crib. He does enjoy naptime snuggles with daddy as well, and loves to fall asleep on daddy's tummy.
We decided from the start not to impliment a schedule for naptimes and bedtimes, as our son had a hard time sleeping right from the get-go. So, I began doing some reading, and actually really enjoyed 'The No-Cry Sleep Solution'. It was full of wonderful tips and tricks, and positive suggestions. Now, most of these suggestions were not applicable to our son, as he just refused to sleep, but was never overly cranky.
He was always a very pleasant baby, and continues to be, still. So, we tried to calm the household environment around 10am and 2pm for naptimes, but he refused to sleep during these times when put in his crib. Eventually around 10am he began drifting off to sleep on his own- either in his crib (after crying himself out), on the floor, or after feeding. He ususally sleeps until around noon. His afternoon nap occurs whenever he decides to sleep. This is one naptime that never seems to be regular- however, he always seems to get in a nap in the afternoon sometime. So, this is good enough for us. He is such a content baby, and is falling asleep a lot easier now as he grows older. We were very adament about household noises during these times as well. We were not going to quiet down, turn off the phone, or put a note on the door that states 'please knock, baby sleeping'. Our goal from the start was to make him able to sleep through any type of noise. Now, it doesn't matter if I am vacumming, doing dishes, if a video game is on or the tv, or if a phone rings or a dog barks, or a doorbell rings- he is still sleeping!
We are both very content parents with a well-adjusted, content son.
So, if/ when we have more children, who knows what we will do the same, or what we will do differently- we both agree that each child is unique in their wants, and comforts and we will continue to take a relaxed look at parenting.

Learning The Ropes
So I'm kind of new to this whole 'blogging' thing. I admit, I have followed a few, and enjoyed them, but never had the desire to create my own. It's not that I have recently found the time, or now have a burning desire to blog, it's just that I have decided to try something new. So, if you enjoy recipes, gardening, children, girl talk or problem solving- I hope that you'll enjoy! :)
