Another Day, another Valentine

So, being as today is Valentine's Day, I thought I would keep it short and just share an incredibly chocolatey, gooey, rich recipe. Enjoy!
Rippled Chocolate Gateau

6 oz/ 175g softened margarine
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup flour
1/4 cup ground almonds
1 oz/ 25g semi-sweet chocolate

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla- add eggs and flour. Add ground almonds and 1-2 tsp water and mix.

Frosting:
8 oz/ 225g semi-sweet chocolate
5 tbsp margarine
2 tbsp corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar

Mix frosting ingredients together and melt. Melt the 1 oz chocolate and swirl into the cake mixture.
Pour into a greased pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 min.
Allow cake to cool, and cover with frosting. Use slivered almonds to decorate!
